Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute (DBHRGFTI) (Erstwhile Jyoti Chitraban Film and Television Institute) was established in January 1999. The Institute is the only Institute of its kind in the entire North Eastern Region of India, is a Regional Centre of Excellence for Education in Film and Television programme making. Students from all the North Eastern states are getting opportunity to take education in different aspects of film making in this Institute. DBHRGFTI is now ranked amongst the leading Film and Television Institutes in the Country. Our education emphasizes on holistic development and interactive practical learning to groom our students as future film makers for sustainable development of the film industry of the country. A closely networked Industry – Institute – interface is ensured through guest lectures, studio and laboratory visit, workshop, seminars attending Film Festivals etc.
