Green papaya contain enzymes called papain and chymopapain which is said to aid digestion,prevents bloating and chronic indigestion. It can also lower the inflammation in the body and alleviate pain

    INGREDIENTS

    900g Chicken ,skinned and cut into pieces
    2 tsp Turmeric powder
    1/2 tsp pepper powder
    Salt to taste
    3 large Onions ,grated
    1½ tsp Ginger paste
    1½ tsp Garlic paste
    3-4 tbsp Cooking Oil
    1 cup Hot Water
    1/2 a Green Papaya (peeled,seeds removed and finely chopped or cubed)
    1 tsp lime juice(optional)
    Method
    Season chicken with 1 tsp turmeric.pepper and salt and keep aside
    Heat the oil in karahi/deep pan
    Fry the onions until light brown
    Add the garlic and ginger paste and fry slightly.Add 1 tsp water to prevent sticking to the pan
    Add 1 tsp turmeric powder mixed with 1 tsp of water.
    Add the chicken and mix well.Cook until slightly tender and oil separates.Add the papaya and the hot water.
    Cook until chicken is tender and the curry thickens.
    Add a teaspoon of lime juice to bring out the taste.
    Remove from heat and serve with Rice

    NB:1 large Potatoes can be used instead of papaya
