The North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management (NERIWALM) is a registered society established on 23rd December, 1989 at Tezpur, Assam, India under the aegis of North Eastern Council (NEC), Shillong, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India. The institute is an autonomous body and has the regional perspective for development of the entire North Eastern region including Sikkim through utilization of Water and Land Resources. To achieve its goal the institute organised capacity building programmers, conduct action research project on actual field problems and provides technical backup services to various state and central Government organization working in the field of water and land management.

NERIWALM is situated on the north bank of the mighty river Brahmaputra, in the historically famous town Tezpur (Assam), India, at distance of 180 km from Guwahati. It is located centrally and connected to all state capitals by all weather roads. Tezpur is also connected by air directly with Kolkata. The airport is 12 km away from the institute.
