B. E. Course
The Royal School of Engineering and Technology offers 4 years Bachelor of Engineering programme in five streams- Computer science & Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Eligibility:
* Candidate who have passed the two year Higher Secondary ( Science) Examination of the Assam Higher secondary Education Council (AHSEC) or its equivalent as recognized by the Gauhati University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics securing the minimum pass mark in each subject and 50% marks in aggregate in the said subjects, will be eligible for admission into the B. E. course
* Must not be more than 21 years or below 17 years on the first of August of the year in which the candidate seeks admission. (the upper age limit mentioned above are relaxed to 22 years in the case of B.Sc. passes candidates and by 3 years for Schedule Caste and Schedule tribe candidates)
* Lateral Entry- Candidates who have passed the final Diploma examination in a branch of study (as per AICTE guideline) conducted by the State Council for Technical Education, Assam, securing a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate will be eligible for admission into the 3rd semester of B.E course. However, the selection of the candidate will be based on the merit of the entrance test
Admission Procedure:
* Candidates for the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) seats shall be selected strictly on the basis of merit list of the Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam, in places and times notified every year by the Directorate of Technical Education in news papers
* The Directorate of Technical Education, Assam, will publish the merit list based on the results of the Common Entrance Examination and the candidates will be selected in order of merit from the list. Candidates belonging to Schedule Castes and Tribes or any categories also need to appear in the entrance exam. They will be selected against the quota reserved for them, according to merit
Exemption from the Admission test:
* Candidates nominated against reserved seats for other states, Union territories and Foreign countries by their respective governments, provided they satisfy the conditions for eligibility
* Candidates ranked within first 10 positions in the Assam Higher Secondary (Science stream) examination, provided they secure not less than 75% marks in aggregate in the year in which they seek admission. Such candidates must apply for their direct admission within 10 days of publication of their qualifying examination results, to the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam
